Touring and working across borders involves navigating a complex web of legal regulations. Discussion with Sebastian Hoffman, representative of the organization touring artists (also the German Mobility Information Point – MIP), will provide an overview of the most pressing issues, including double taxation, VAT, customs, social insurance, and visas. The aim is to help artists and organisers prepare more effectively for future international projects and tours. You will also find out about free resources, such as the Mobility Information Points (MIPs). Questions are encouraged!

More information can be found HERE.

Free sources of information, such as Mobility Information Points, will also be presented. Mobility Information Points (MIPs) are information centers whose goal is to solve administrative challenges faced by artists and cultural workers in cross-border work. More about MIPs can be found HERE.

About the speaker

Sebastian Hoffmann works at the International Theater Institute (ITI) in Germany, where he coordinates the touring artists advisory point, which deals with administrative issues related to cross-border work in the cultural sector. Previously, he worked as an agent at Paper & Iron Booking and as a local concert organiser in Berlin (Schokoladen, Down by the River Festival). He also worked as a consultant for Music Pool Berlin and was a member of the jury for Musicboard Berlin.

About MENToring

The mentoring sessions are 60-minute meetings with five pre-registered participants. The sessions are participant-led – the mentors will provide only a brief introduction to their background. The rest of the session will focus on answering and discussing participants’ questions. Review the mentors’ profiles, research the topic and your challenges, and prepare questions – it’s up to you to make the most of the session.
