The workshop will take place online on the 12th of November, from 14:00 until 15:30 (CET). It will be led by Caro Overy, head of the Green Arts program with the internationally renowned organisation Creative Carbon Scotland, which guides the cultural sector in lowering their effects on the environment and adapting to climate change.

The training is primarily aimed at members of the network of green film venues Potujoči Kino Soča – Cinema itinerante Isonzo. Representatives of other cultural organisations based along the Slovene-Italian border wishing to gain knowledge on applying green practices to their work (including event organization, especially participation in the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025 programs) are also welcomed. About the workshop mentor

Working with Creative Carbon Scotland since 2018, Caro Overy leads the Green Arts programme within the organisation, supporting cultural organisations and artists to address the climate emergency in the way they work. Her team facilitates the Green Arts Initiative (nearly 500 Scottish cultural organisations committed to addressing their environmental impact), runs the environmental reporting scheme for funded cultural organisations, leads on the delivery of local assemblies to encourage collaboration across climate and culture and provides training, tools and resources for the sector as a whole.

About Creative Carbon Scotland

Creative Carbon Scotland have been working at the intersection of arts and sustainability in Scotland since 2011. Founded by Director Ben Twist, the organisation works to enable and equip culture to contribute to the wider effort to address the climate emergency and to ensure creative methods play the significant role they can in our needed transformation to a fairer and lower carbon society.

REMEMBER: Motovila organised the international forum “Creativity for Sustainability” in September 2022, where we discussed, with national and international experts, environmental guidelines and good practices for (more) sustainable international (co)operation and mobility in culture. Ben Twist addressed the participants and reminded them why art and culture are crucial for climate change adaptation. A recording of Ben’s speech is available on Motovila’s YouTube channel here.

The training programme is part of the Go Green Cinema (GGC) project, funded by the European Union through the Small Project Fund GO! 2025 of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 programme, managed by the EGTC GO.
