Creative Forum Ljubljana 2019 – Creative Europe gathering

As part of the CED Slovenia programme, Motovila has organized a meeting of local representatives that have successfully implemented international projects supported by Creative Europe. They presented their extensive experience of international cooperation to our guests –representatives of CED Kosovo and Tunisia. Rina Gurgule (XK) and Hazar Hichri (TN) outlined the cultural ecosystem of their respective countries as well as highlighted some organizations that are relevant and interested to initiate international cooperation in the future. The gathering was followed by an internal working session with the CED representatives from the three respective countries.

The aim of the Creative Europe gathering was to strengthen contacts and establish a feasible cooperation with and between the “new” members of the Creative Europe programme, i.e. the Western Balkans and Southern Mediterranean region.

Creative Europe gathering conclusions:

Given the similarities between the cultural sectors of the 3 countries, increasing the solidarity between the cultural actors would be an essential point for the strengthening of the different structures active in this sector by “bringing together the big to the small” in the framework of cooperation projects.
Better visibility of the cultural actors of each country is essential to reinforce the already existing cooperation potential.
Multiply the meeting events, like the Creative Forum, between the creative actors or with a representative of the cultural sector of each country in order to create bonds of trust more solid thanks to the knowledge in person of a potential vis-à-vis in cooperation projects.

Creative Forum Ljubljana has been organised by the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Union for the Mediterranean. It provided capacity building, networking opportunities, room for debate and policy review. The 2019 edition took place in Ljubljana from 12 to 15 November. The conclusions of the Creative Europe gathering were presented at the Forum.
