Writer in the Park

Every year, the Ljubljana UNESCO City of Literature Office, in cooperation with the MGLC Švicarija, launches a call for international residencies for writers from UNESCO Cities of Literature from all over the world. So far, applicants have come from a wide range of backgrounds, including children’s writers and playwrights. There are no restrictions regarding age, race, gender or nationality.

A jury of three selects two authors for two one-month residencies at the MGLC Švicarija in the centre of Ljubljana. They receive a scholarship and the opportunity to get to know the local literary landscape as well as the space to write.

So far, Ljubljana, a UNESCO City of Literature hosted residents from Russia, the United Kingdom, Australia, Iceland and the Netherlands.
