Social security is coordinated in the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) to ensure that individuals travelling or working abroad have social security. Remember that each country has its own system for organising social protection and social security rights.
Artists and cultural workers working in the EU and EEA must also comply with national laws and all applicable EU/EEA rules.
Before each travel, find out what benefits are covered by your health insurance abroad and take out additional international health insurance if necessary. Similarly, cultural organisations, whether host or guest, should check what relevant insurances and documents you need for the artists and/or cultural workers you are working with. For further information about health insurance during a temporary stay in Slovenia / EU, see here.
If artists and cultural workers are posted abroad by their employer or are self-employed, they will need an A1 certificate.
