{"id":17462,"date":"2023-03-23T11:40:33","date_gmt":"2023-03-23T10:40:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/motovila.si\/?p=17462"},"modified":"2023-03-23T11:40:33","modified_gmt":"2023-03-23T10:40:33","slug":"day-of-european-authors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/motovila.si\/en\/day-of-european-authors\/","title":{"rendered":"Day of European Authors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/culture.ec.europa.eu\/cultural-and-creative-sectors\/books-and-publishing\/day-of-european-authors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day of European Authors<\/a><\/strong> on <strong>27 March 2023<\/strong> is an initiative of the European Commission to reconnect younger generations with book reading and to help them discover the diversity of European literature.<\/p>\n<p>As well as helping youngsters reconnect with books, this yearly celebration aims to show how literature can be a tool for individual empowerment. Books and reading can enable people in secondary education to engage with ongoing social and personal challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The Day is also an opportunity to emphasise the importance of all the programmes and initiatives already running in individual EU countries to promote reading.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There are 3 parallel activities organised during the Day of European Authors:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Reading sessions in schools.<\/p>\n<p>2. Tour by European authors. Meet our writers on tour <a href=\"https:\/\/europeanwriterscouncil.eu\/dea-ewc-writers-on-tour\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>3. A conference on reading promotion in Sofia, Bulgaria (9.00\u201318.30).
