Every year, the Ljubljana UNESCO City of Literature Office, in cooperation with the MGLC \u0160vicarija<\/a>, launches a call for international residencies for writers from UNESCO Cities of Literature from all over the world. So far, applicants have come from a wide range of backgrounds, including children’s writers and playwrights. There are no restrictions regarding age, race, gender or nationality.<\/p>\n

A jury of three selects two authors for two one-month residencies at the MGLC \u0160vicarija in the centre of Ljubljana. They receive a scholarship and the opportunity to get to know the local literary landscape as well as the space to write.<\/p>\n

So far, Ljubljana, a UNESCO City of Literature hosted residents from Russia, the United Kingdom, Australia, Iceland and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n
