Environmental sustainability

In the area of environmental sustainability, Motovila seeks to promote a structured exchange of information and proven practices, common challenges and opportunities to facilitate the inclusion of the sustainable aspect in the operations of culture and creative sectors.

Motovila cooperates with a wide range of national and international representatives from different cultural and creative sectors, as well as environmental organisations such as Umanotera, On the Move, Creative Carbon Scotland, Ecologists Without Borders, the Creative Europe Desk Network and the European Commission.

In 2023, the European Commission published the study “Greening the Creative Europe programme” to help achieve its objectives of fighting climate change and to support its efforts to make the Creative Europe Programme more environmental-friendly.

Motovila welcomes any initiatives and challenges that you may think of to increase the sustainability of cultural and creative sectors. This will make it easier to decide on priorities and design the most appropriate contents for progress in that area. You can send us your proposals, comments and initiatives at info[at]motovila.si.

Climate change isn’t out there, on the horizon, it’s here now and there’s an urgent need to adapt. But how? And what role do arts and culture play in adapting? What we can concretely do in our cultural institutions, see here.
